The app
What is gobench?
A training app for athletes and the coaches who train them. Plan sessions, log what you lift and see what it adds up to, with your coach or on your own.
When can I get it?
gobench is coming soon to iPhone and Android.
Who is it for?
Anyone who trains with weights, and their coaches. You need to be 18 or over, or have a parent or guardian agree to the terms with you.
Logging and progress
Do I need signal to log a session?
No. Sets wait on your phone and reach your record when you're back online, so a basement gym is no problem.
Kilograms or pounds?
Either. gobench follows your phone's region until you choose, and shows every number in your units, even sets logged in the other.
How is my progress worked out?
From the sets you logged. A lift moves by its load, and at the same load by its reps, never by an estimated one-rep max. A set logged far too light is set aside and named, so one slip never bends the picture.
What does "the same again earns more weight" mean?
When every set of a lift reaches the top of its rep range in two sessions running, gobench suggests the next load, rounded up to a plate step: 2.5 kg, or 5 lb.
Coaching
How do I find a coach?
Find coaches in the app by what they coach, how and where. Agree times that suit you both and start with a trial.
What does my coach see?
Your profile and the training logged while they coach you. When a coaching ends, the coach keeps what they logged, read only.
How do I become a coach on gobench?
Coaching is by application: coach profiles are checked before clients can find them. Apply to coach.
Your data and AI
What is a read by AI?
A short read of your training: what a period adds up to and what it means for your next session. Every number in it is computed by gobench from your record; the AI only words it.
What is sent to an AI provider?
The facts of a period, your goals and your training experience, with names replaced by codes. Never your injuries or your notes. The providers are Anthropic, OpenAI and Google, and their paid services do not train their models on what we send.
Can I turn AI off?
Yes, in Settings, at any time. That stops every AI feature reading your training and deletes the reads already written.
Do you sell my data?
No. We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising.
How do I see, correct or delete my data?
Write to privacy@gobench.me. Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019, you can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, object to a use of it, or have a copy to take elsewhere. The privacy policy says the rest.
